Planning our Steps, 2021 Edition

Happy New Year beloved friend! Rick and I cannot believe how fast January has flown by (not to mention 2020) - wowza! How is God's gift of a new year going, so far? Do you put together goals or resolutions? When then Fiancé and I spent our first NYE together (pictures below 12/31/2014), I was introduced to a new tradition. Each year Rick would purchase poster boards, he and the boys would take time to write out goals, share with one another and hang them in a place they would be visible, year round. I am so thankful this is something we have continued...including the lounge clothes :D 



Husband and I are very excited to share our 2021 goals (pictures below) - special thanks to our poster holder. Top priorities for Husband are Faith Bible Church training and growing in knowledge and application of God's word; mine is sanctification and direction with "work;" and Husband and I are also learning Italian and planning to visit a second mission's agency and team. We are eager to see how the Lord will lead and answer in all things, especially with missions.


"Cast your bread upon the waters, For you will find it after many days. Give a serving to seven, and also to eight, For you do not know what evil will be on the earth. If the clouds are full of rain, They empty themselves upon the earth; And if a tree falls to the south or the north, In the place where the tree falls, there it shall lie. He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap. As you do not know what is the way of the wind, Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, So you do not know the works of God who makes everything. In the morning sow your seed, And in the evening do not withhold your hand; For you do not know which will prosper, Either this or that, Or whether both alike will be good" (Ecclesiastes 11:1-6, NKJV). Life has many surprises. Be generous. Some things are predictable while others are not; and much cannot be changed, less controlled. There is God's part, and then there is ours. There is much opportunity for each of us each day, but God is the one in control and directing (Proverbs 16:9). Can I get an amen and hallelujah?!?!?1 <3

2019 was not a path I would have chosen for myself , if given the choice. As Rick and I began our quest knocking, seeking and asking God for His leading and blessing with missions in April, we had no idea what or who to expect. “Incidentally,” the day of our first conference call vetting a mission’s agency in May, we bumped into a very wise pastor-friend. He advised us, ‘Make sure you know their doctrine, statement of faith and stance on controversial issues like marriage and abortion.’ Upon talking to the rep, it was very clear, not all mission's agencies are created equal . Sticking to the Plan

Good day Beloved! Husband and I would like to share a bit about how our last week has gone and give God all the glory (video recap here ). As you know, we set out for Rome on Sunday, January 9 to attend a conference and meet a missions team. We were compliant with travel regulations and documents but were detained in Zurich by customs. We did all we could practically to get through but were sent back to L.A. on Tuesday, January 11. It is with sadness we share this news, coupled with hope, encouragement and greater faith. Going Back to Rome with Good News

"But the angel said to them [shepherds], 'Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people" ( Luke 2:10, NASB ). Beloved, when you think of "great joy," what comes to mind? My prayer is that your great joy is in Christ alone . This advent season, Husband and I rejoice as we reflect back and look forward to visiting Rome on January 9-23, with the privilege of sharing this precious gift with others in Italy. We need your faithful prayers more than ever, as this could potentially be the location where God is calling us to serve long-term (to be confirmed).
